Andrew G. Vaughn

Andrew G. Vaughn

Regardless of the issues in your case, Andrew G. Vaughn will develop a case strategy that uses a combination of his litigation and negotiation skills to ensure that you receive the best possible result. The most successful strategy for your case may require the use of aggressive litigation (i.e. courtroom advocacy) techniques. In that event, Mr. Vaughn will employ his extensive litigation background related to complex financial and contested custody issues to your benefit.

Mr. Vaughn has successfully litigated multiple issues such as: valuation of closely held businesses, validity of pre-marital agreements, custody of and visitation with minor children, analysis of maintenance/alimony claims, complex tracing of assets and streams of income, injunctive relief, orders of protection, international jurisdiction, and disproportionate division of marital estates. In the alternative, when the most effective strategy for your case calls for reaching a negotiated settlement, Mr. Vaughn can utilize his skills as a negotiator to your benefit. Mr. Vaughn was a member of the Negotiation Team while attending Loyola University Chicago School of Law and has added practical experience to his academic background by participating in many negotiations of multi-million dollar cases as well as contested custody cases.

After law school, Mr. Vaughn accepted a position with the Center for Disability and Elder Law as the Pro Bono Family Law Coordinator. After leaving the Public Interest sector, Mr. Vaughn worked with two U.S. News and World Report Top Tier law firms (Schiller DuCanto & Fleck and Katz & Stefani), first as an associate and later as the youngest partner in firm history. Mr. Vaughn is also a Professor of Advanced Issues in Domestic Relations Law and the Domestic Relations Law Practicum at Loyola University Chicago School of Law (2008-present) and has been named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers and an Emerging Leader by Leading Lawyers.

In addition to his active law practice and professorial activities, Mr. Vaughn is a frequent lecturer on a wide range of topics including: injunctive relief, strategies for deposing expert witnesses, and the rights and remedies of same sex couples in Illinois. In addition, Mr. Vaughn is active in the community via his role on the Development Committee of Epic Academy (a Chicago charter school), volunteering with Cabrini Green Legal Aid, raising funds for MS research and for veteran’s causes, via his role as a member of the Business Advice & Financial Planning Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association, and via his role as a member of the Standing Committee on Law Office Management & Economics of the Illinois State Bar Association.
